I went beyond speechless about a year and a half ago, when Bush announced the africa AIDS plan; wonderful, except all the money came out of anti-malaria programs, inexhaustably cynical and cruel.
A plausible explanation for the statistical dead heat might be that a bunch of people with no intention to vote GW still can't believe the best we can come up with is Kerry. Or so several of them have told me.
I think they're just hoping for a miracle, and will come around.
