Oh Look, It's Growing

From that partisan journal, USA Today:

WASHINGTON — An investigation into whether a midlevel Pentagon analyst passed information about U.S. policy on Iran to pro-Israel lobbyists could expand into a broader inquiry into whether more U.S. secrets were shared with Israel, two federal law enforcement officials said Sunday.

Okay, here's an article from antiwar.com, a journal I've not much currency with.

It doesn't mince words. At first skim I would call it breathlessly partisan, but nevertheless a fun read. I won't analyze it further right now; I'll just provide the link, and wish you all a good time with it.

Partisan doesn't necessarily mean wrong - ask the old French Resistance.

Indeed. I meant partisan in the adversarial tradition, the defense attorney vs. prosecution, where neither side is inclined to give any sway to any opposing argument. This works in the courts, because it doesn't matter how many silly arguments you advance as long as one or two of them make your case.

Elections are different in that silly positions look that way, and are remembered. The faithful can be counted upon to stay in the camp regardless of the embarrassing things said by or about their candidate, but a swing vote can be swung to the other side when poorly expressed or silly arguments for a candidate are given enough prominence.

I would not submit the antiwar.com article to a fence-sitter without a much more careful reading.
