Andrew Sullivan on Zell Miller's Speech

www.AndrewSullivan.com - Daily Dish: "His speech tonight was in this vein, a classic Dixiecrat speech, jammed with bald lies, straw men, and hateful rhetoric. As an immigrant to this country and as someone who has been to many Southern states and enjoyed astonishing hospitality and warmth and sophistication, I long dismissed some of the Northern stereotypes about the South. But Miller did his best to revive them. The man's speech was not merely crude; it added whole universes to the word crude."

Comment round up here.

Looks like Zell did a great job -- for the Democrats. Way to take one for the team, Zell!

"It was even better in the original German." A classic line applied in the comments.

Get ready to ride out a week or so of a not-out-of the margin of error Bush lead. Adjust your fretting to "normal." Today's latest has a 47 to 47 tie; better than I would have expected during this convention; generally, Gallup runs right, and Zogby left.
