Wow! The NHL's loss is definitly Anchorage's gain. I'll even forgive that Gomez is from Diamond High. My admiration for him leaped tenfold after he paraded the Stanley Cup around Anchorage by dog sled. He has gone way out of his way to acknowledge his home town.
This is just the excuse I need to cross the Strait of Juan De Fuca to see the Aces play the Victoria Kings. They next play each other in January.
For those of you in SF, your closest Aces opportunity would be to road trip to Fresno to catch the Fresno Falcons play the Aces. I guarentee it would be worth the trip. Gomez is an explosive player especially now that he is a man among boys.
