Going In Stength

Latest polls show a hard tie, which a challenger wins about 75-80% of the time. The movement this weekend is generally towards Kerry. As Dr. X pointed out, early turnout is absolutely massive, another good sign.

There is also an ineffable mood - among Democratic faithfuls, there is nervousness, but a palpable sense of possibility and shared strength. And now there are intolerable cracks in the Bush supporters' sense of electoral entitlement. The elan is moving Left.

This being said, please excuse me if I continue to dig my nails into the couch for a few more days. Also, this assumes that there won't be a planned or unplanned breakdown of the voting process that would result on months of legal wrangling probably all for naught, that leaves the Repubs in power. I am sitll awaiting a "Big surprise" or giant evil deed from the Dark Right.

Walter Cronkite seems to think the Bin Laden tape may well be the October Surprise.

At least according to Mr. Drudge...
