Eisengeiste redesign
Eisengeisters: I believe the time has come for redesigning our happy blog. I submit these proposals for discussion:
1) Eliminate the Lord of the Rings themes and associated content. It was great, for a long time, but I think it's time for something new (or old).
2) Remove Meebo. I had a couple of good conversations there, but today I more likely to talk to Eisengeisters on IM or Facebook. Also, it motivates me not to leave our blog up in our browser, as it can mistakenly lead people to believe that I am available to have a Meebo conversation with them.
3) Put "Today's Tomorrow's Headlines" in the regular content section of the blog. This way, we'll know when there is a new "Today's Tomorrow's Headlines." Also, they will be archived and searchable through the Blogger interface.
4) Select a new theme (or lack thereof) for the banner and name. (I am personally leaning toward reverting to Eisengeiste.)

Make it so.
I concur completely on Today's Tomorrow's headlines. They, along with Reebar for Tootsie Rolls are integral to our content strategy.
As for the name/theme:
- I favor a theme built around the Japanese Decadent Period ukiyo-e artist Keisai Eisen, who's a pretty cool guy once you get to know him (painter, author, brothel owner, drunkard - what's not to like?). Would understand if that sentiment's not universal.
- Perhaps some Francophilia? Eisengeiste is Chemin de Fer in French.
- I always thought of this blog as a way to perpetuate dotcom values and ideals, so maybe a theme built around 1998 San Francisco (surely the closest thing to a real-life Disneyland for grownups that's ever existed)?
But these are deep questions and call for spiritual introspection, or possibly even a strategic planning exercise of some kind.

Yes. Meebo is annoying and not much bang for the screen real estate buck.
Yes... "Today's Tomorrow's Headlines" as posts. Although it might also additionally make for nice filler on the side.
I like the new graphic.
But, given the tone of this blog, I'm starting to wonder if we could use a similar graphic of the Schadenfreudenator 3000 instead?
