A few weeks ago, I had the curious occasion to ride in a Bentley. It was both impressive and mundane. It was about 94% like riding in my 99 Honda civic with nicer upholstery.

I'm afraid even the best contemporary cars are only sort of interesting. Their designs are simply vastly too undistinguished, so insulated from the world as to make travel and HD TV nearly indistinguishable. And then, shit falls off.

I find myself asking: "at what speed could I be hit by a Bentley where my main worry would be the inability for the hood ornament to retract." 60mph, good thing they fixed those hood ornaments.
