So the whole thing for me, if we ever had a chance to discuss about what really should be done comes down to:
Should we nationalize big banks? Should we nationalize big energy companies? Should we nationalize big insurance companies?
And of course: setting aside previous ideological forms of nationalization, what works best at quickly incorporating inescapably urgent national and international policy into the decision making of the earth's dominant economic actors, private, public and in-between?
On these points, the question is becoming less what is the ideal for balancing freedom and justice, but rather, what system is going to allow us any hope of acting quickly enough to preserve the basic stability of the largest and most critical biological systems of life on earth?
At this point, I'm for whatever system gets our butts in gear. The only thing we're not allowed to do is throw up our hands.
