The AK-47: is there any problem it can't solve?
As the material was dangerously radioactive and hard and strong, and using remote controlled systems was not possible due to high radiation interfering with electronics, shots from an AK-47 were used to split off chunks for analysis.

But they are so hard to find.
I believe that on all Russian trouble-shooting flowcharts, about three or four nodes in, there is a bubble that says "try shooting it with an AK-47."
