What's coming is a long, long, detailing of the federal and state crimes committed by the will, direction, and intent of the President.
And that is exactly how a great democracy should with this, just like it does with large criminal operations.
Long, slow, methodical accounting of documents, of facts, of sworn testimony, all pointing more and more to a coherent conclusion.
The damn broke this week, and having committed so many federal and state crimes (and indeed having grossly broken basic expectations of institutional respect sure to offend public servants of all stripes), for the President, there's no escaping multiple layers of the justice system now.
He asked recently if it will ever end.
It will not. His companies and his organization are now best understood as a criminal network, fueled with business relationships with foreign adversaries who intended to weaken the U.S.
it is already all too obvious to turn back many versions of criminal investigation, each with different crimes, different institutions, and their own methods of fact gathering and accounting.
The President hogged all the attention in the country; well, now he has it, and the first business of the country is to write down a list of all the things he's done and all the people and institutions he's corrupted, and all of his financial and political and personal felonies, and back that list with a tightening vise of documentation and institutional and political force.
And the President will have to sit there, for years, maybe decades, in office, in court, in a dozen or dozens of venues, listening to this list, unable to counter it, his words empty as zeroes, his lying so methodically documented- the work of his accusers sharpened by the despicability of their adversary, and by their own deepest patriotism, by the need to make the struggle for justice a prime purpose of the United States again.
It will all become gray, and dull, and bureaucratic, and utterly devastating. Felonious Trump is facing a DMV line straight to the grave.
That last line is a killer shot.
