They appear at art shows when all your paintings sell,
rent out
or are held for sale.

Thank you, thank you, I am unworthy of your honors.
It was a small show but a big deal for me, a few real collectors and critics were there , and demonstrated genuine interest in the work - an affirmation that you're always speculating on otherwise. I'm terrible- just awful- about hustling my work, but this suggests it might be something other than total self-delusion.
