Do it, do it
Georgian GOP secessionists on the March, joining their Texas brethren. This after excoriating us yankee libs for disloyalty while their party was wrecking the country.
Gentlemen, Abe Lincoln had your number. If you'll turn to page 43 of your hymnal...
Your purpose, then, plainly stated, is, that you will destroy the Government, unless you be allowed to construe and enforce the Constitution as you please, on all points in dispute between you and us. You will rule or ruin in all events.

The Gary Wills piece is a particularly nice read, a reminder of why I also believe in American exceptionalism, in key, severely damaged, aspects of the political culture.
Noted also: the Texas reaction to Rick Perry is similar to much the Alaska reaction over Palin, greatly underestimating the damage to the state done nationally and internationally, extending a provincial umbrella to cover them, as in "oh, our whacky governor," and completely missing the issue: these people have shamed their state and dishonored the union with outrageous, idiotic, racist or borderline treasonous comments from officials in high office.
