Do we blow any zodiac / small fishing vessel out of the water if it approaches a merchant ship? (Oops, that's a violation of international treaties)
Do we instead try and be smart, track vessels via satellite to see where the pirate mothership is, then blow that out of the water? (Oops, that was where they were keeping the hostages)
Despite the open waters, and massive firepower at our disposal this looks to me like yet another exercise in asymmetrical warfare.
